Bulging Red/Orange rubber thingy on the magnet

I am using a milk frothing metal pitcher to heat water for coffee in the morning.

The red/orange foot on the bottom of the Joule magnet bulges outward because the inside bottom of the pitcher is not flat. The pitcher has a bulge in the bottom center so Joule is standing over a space. (get it?)

I have ordered a different metal pitcher that supposedly has a flat bottom that arrives today; but I am a bit concerned about that bulge in the foot of the rubber thingy on the bottom of the magnet. As Joule cools down, the bulge flattens out again, but...? A problem waiting to happen?

Hi, Ellen. Thanks so much. I was wondering why that was happening. Even when sitting flat on the bottom of a Cambro... Joule starts to lean over. Once cooled it goes flat again. I can only assume there is a bit of air in the center of the rubber thingy that expands in the heat.

Ellen, THAT was super fast. Have used the replacement mag foot a couple of times so far: no bulging. Perfect. Do you want the original back? Right now it is doing duty holding up a Christmas card from my Grand Daughter on the fridge. <GRIN>
