Cleaning the cord
Dat_Phan_279256
The cord on my Joule is getting a bit dingy. Anyone have any tips for freshening it up and making it white-ish again?

I would try some dawn w/water maybe a little baking soda and if that didn't do it I'd go with some rubbing alcohol/water on a paper towel.

Dat what I have found works best is high proof isopropyl alcohol and a little elbow grease(which isn't grease at all it turns out). For really extremely dirty or tough stains I will use acetone that has been diluted with isopropyl about 4:1. You want to be careful because the acetone will take the print off the cord as well. Hope this helps!

Well that's a first for me ... acetone diluted with isopropyl. Learned something new and I've used a lot of solvents in my life! Thanks Ben

Thanks! The isopropyl alcohol worked for what I had on my cord.

Thanks for the suggestions! I ended up trying Clorox wipes and isopropyl alcohol and they both worked. A note on using isopropyl alcohol: don't use it with paper towels with a colored print; it'll smear that ink on the cord. Ask me how I know 😜

A CS engineer told me he found that an old fashioned pink eraser worked best to remove scuffs on the cord. Not sure about practicality for large surface areas.
