Buying knives.
pldurand
I am interested in one or two of your knives. I have found in the past that being to actually heft a knife before buying is doing due diligence. Looking at upwards of $500.00, I would really like to be able to have a feel for them. Just to make sure they are comfortable in my hand. I live just north of the border in Surrey, BC and would like to drive down to Seattle to buy them. It was stated somewhere that they come with some sort of course in sharpening. That would put the stone kit I got from you this week to good use.
So, is this feasible, or do you just sell online?
Cheers,
Peter

The store that actually handles the transaction and provides the merchandise is called
The Epicurean Edge
. They are located in Kirkland, WA across Lake Washington from Seattle. I don't know if ChefSteps is part of an affiliate program with the store or anything, I'm sure it would be cool if you went to the store and mentioned the site.
I purchased the Ohishi 'hammer' gyuto about a year ago (and the wetstone kit and ceramic honing rod for Christmas). Love them all.
