I've been looking at maybe getting one. Cuckoo was a brand that had high praise on another forum but all I have done is look so far. Interested in what people here have to say.

I have a Tiger brand. The store said to make sure you get one that is made in Japan, not China. The Japanese-made one is apparently better.

That's the brand I'm finally retiring... worked great for a long time and still works! Got it in the mid 90's.

Have been using Cuisinart MSC-600
slow cooker
for over a year and I love it!
Cook the pasta, rice, etc and set aside, saute the veggies and brown the meat. Dump it all back in and you're all set.
The only thing it does not do that would make me even happier, is to allow it to be programmed for a certain amount of time at "high" and then automatically switch to a "low "setting" to finish cooking. Overall, highly recommend this cooker.

Japanese brands make the best rice cookers. The most famous are Tiger and Zojirushi.
I had a zojirushi back when I lived in Tokyo that worked really well. But most commercial models you'll be able to find are just as good, by the way I found this useful article while searching the internet

hope it will help.
