Never mind. It doesnʻt save the recipe, just the webpage.
I use MacGourmetDeluxe software, that easily allows me to enter a recipe into my very own database. Its fast, its up-to-date with 21st century tech. It clips recipes from every site I ever go to except this one.
Several of us have REQUESTED, politely, to have the recipes posted as plain text. Many times, over several YEARS now.
Why is it, after A) being first responders for Joule long before it ever shipped, waiting months beyond the original ship date, staying loyal to what was beginning to appear as another Kickstarter fail; and then
paying for Premium content; we still have to jump through all these hoops on the website and still CANNOT get a recipe saved to our recipe db software.
The ONLY way is to RETYPE the entire recipe. Welcome to 1984!
This is the DIGITAL age, and the 21st century. Why can we NOT use the technology we have invested in to easily, quickly and efficiently transfer a recipe, for our own use, into our own digital tools?
Iʻm not the ONLY person that has asked/bitched/complained/begged for this.
In one posted comment I read, it said that "someone" at ChefSteps was "looking into this". Some time back.
Still no MODERN way of doing this. We can print it on a piece of paper or we can jump through all the hoops of clicking many times in the ChefSteps website or we can go back to the day of the Secretarial Pool and re-type the whole recipe and its steps. But so far, NO compliance with the many software apps that actually let us acquire the recipe with the tools we currently own.
ChefSteps is using very modern, up-to-date software to build and maintain the site, it canʻt be that difficult to get PLAIN TEXT onto a page with the danged recipe. You format the recipe to print out, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
PROTECTIONISM OF YOUR RECIPES? Holy cow. If we can copy them by retyping, whatʻs the point?
Cʻmon you guys, give us a break. Iʻm an evangelist for Joule and for ChefSteps. I think we all are.

I fail to see the link between a first world problem as petty as being displeased by not being able to save a recipe in a fashion you'd like, and a dystopian future where people are tortured in various ways to ensure the think the right thoughts.

I agree with you completely on all of this Bill Martin. It's all been frustrating to me as well. I'm not viewing the website as much for all these reasons. Hopefully they will change all of this. (I too ordered Joule at the beginning and by the time I received it I had already purchased a different sous vide product:-(( One thing I do do on a really good recipe that I want to save is download the PDF file and convert it to a word document. Takes a lot of editing but easier than retyping the entire thing:-)
