Scale Question - ChefSteps Store
Brandon_610
I was wondering if the high capacity scale in the store has an auto-off function, or if it will stay on until I tell it to turn off? I have an auto-off model now and it is a pita. I hate when it shuts off while I need to grab more product. Thanks for the help!

The consumer grade high-capacity scale does have an auto-off, and yep, it's annoying. The high-end professional scales are much better in this regard.

Glad I'm not the only one that finds that annoying.
It sucks when you have to go grab something and you miss where you were.

Dang cat knocked my scale to the floor recently rendering it useless and I was ready to order one of the scales in question but decided against it for that very reason, many of the reviews say that it shuts off in just 60 seconds.
I ended up getting one that doesn't shut off for 2 minutes which hasn't been a problem so far.

I got the original scales from the store, they've held up well, the shutoff is the only annoying bit.

Count me among those that find the auto shut off annoying. Otherwise though, it's been a great scale.

The auto-off is maddening. Altho it has taught me to be much more orderly in the preparation of my mise when it's time to scale ingredients.
