Just wanted to share this <little> mod I did to my Joule boxes with all of you. I got the idea when I found myself always wrapping the cord around my Joule and then trying to put it back in the box. TL;DR If you cut a bit of the plastic molding away from the lid of the box you can wrap up the cord around the middle of joule, put the plug in first and then close the lid. (My apologies if someone already posted about this.)

Or, you know, you could just put it back in the box the way it was originally, with the cord not wrapped around the unit, but stored in that middle well.

So you use a wire tie and wrap up the cord each time you put your joule away? You did say the "original" way didn't you? And technically my cords are still stored in the middle well, I just extended the middle well up a bit more.

If you're going to be pedantic, you should have included the wrapping of the unit itself, as well as the plastic cover of the button. However, if you just wrap it around your hand, extract your hand, and place threw cord in the pre-existing well, there is no need for any design alteration.

I use an elastic to keep the cord wrapped, or wrap the cord and slide it under the clip.

The cord fits perfectly in the gap where the water intake is. That's how I wrap mine. I care not for the large box and just keep in cozy in a drawer.
