I'm moving to China

Well I could live in Shanghai anyway. Not only would I grow morbidly obese on xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) but duck breasts are the same price as chicken feet.
During my wanderings in Shanghai I spent some time in a Carefour supermarket looking at product lines and price points (who says I don't know how to have a good time in a foreign country). The fresh duck breasts are the same price per 500g as the chicken feet, ¥15.80 (1¥ = 0.16 USD, so $2.53 per 500g). Not only do the shrimp have heads but I can pick out the best swimmers from the live tank that I want to take home and eat.
Unfortunately I couldn't visit the chicken processing plant my wife looked at. Once it comes online in the next month it will initially process 120 million chicken a year (328,000 + chickens per day, every day of the year) with the ability to grow. It is one of the largest processing plants in the world. The best part is some of the bland skinless boneless breasts will be sent for pet food while the tasty dark meat is left for humans.
I still can't get my wife to try the mystery meat on a stick from the road side stalls, but I still have a week in China to persuade her - what good is health insurance if you don't use it.
