Frying/Cooking pans?
Allan_189272
I’m looking for a new set of pans. What are your recommendations for the best frying pans out there ... all clad vs stainless steel vs non-stick vs anything else? Thanks for the time.

The type of pan will depend on their use. Example, for searing, I prefer cast iron (e.g. lodge or staube) or carbon steel (Darto or Matfer Bourgeat), for things like a soffrito, finishing pasta and such a stainless steel pan works well. So, I can't say I recommend getting a "set" but look at what sizes you need/want and go from there.

No idea about your budget, but Demeyere Proline pans are amazing. Super thick aluminum. Just beasts. Mauviel copper are great as well.
Also, what Todd said.

+1 for carbon steel.

Agree.
I have cast iron and carbon steel.
The one Teflon pan I have I will not be replacing .

I heard great things on this forum about Darto carbon steel. Saving up to get one (or two).

These are bad boys and I’m a very happy customer. Get the big one and the next down, the others are small, together they will qualify for free shipping (over $100)
I do own a few Volrath Optio series pans that I’m also quite happy with as well, very economical and durable, can’t beat'em for the price imo. The full stainless ones don’t have rivets but the nonstick do.. go figure

See Gotham Steel cookware sets

. Every pot and pan in this set is constructed to the highest Gotham Steel standards, with a titanium steel core that’s coated to ceramic copper for non-stick performance.
