Anyone with Induction Range?

I may need to purchase an induction range (NOT COOKTOP) as gas may just be too much of a project and $$.

My issues with induction ranges are you are limited to 4 burners. Is that a huge deal? Anyone have ones they could recommend? I'm going from the possibility of a 36" Blue Star RNB with 6 burners to now a 30" induction range. Doing my best to get the best I can.

You can buy a 6 "burner" induction range. Google it, they're expensive, but they're out there.

I recall a few mentioning this was a limitation for them. I believe the Chefsteps GE Profile induction cooktop had good reviews and they've previously be complimentary toward its use. They make a 36" model ( PHP9036SJSS ) that has 5 induction elements.

No experience with that one, but I was able to test drive a kitchenaid induction (talked a family member into getting an induction stove) while in Canada over the holidays and was really pleased.

Actually looked at a GE Profile slide in ramge today at Aitoro. Very nice. Only one oven but looked great.

Nevermind. That's electric. They're making electric ranges look exactly like induction ranges now.

Alright, found it. Bit more expensive, but should be perfect. I think I like the knobs too. No worries about wet hands pushing buttons or having to look down and away from the food to push buttons.

I know it's not ideal, but you could consider supplementing a 4-burner range with a Vollrath Mirage Pro portable burner. I have an electric range with effectively only four burners, and I use the Vollrath when things get crowded over there. It's also just a great unit to have in general.

Yeah I plan on supplementing with a Duxtop burner. Maybe a Mirage Pro but that is expensive.

Check eBay.. somebody recently put about fifteen of them up for $250 shipped bnib! Most listed are too expensive but occasionally they do pop up for a great price, just gotta be patient. Btw you’ll get far more adjustability with the mirage

+2 for eBay. I got mine for even less than Todd... but I was looking for quite a while. It's worth waiting for.

I have the Samsung induction stove top and I find having the four burners not to be a problem. I also have a Vollrath portable one so in a pinch I can augment the four. But to date that has not been necessary. The one complaint I have is I was not able to use all of my pans as they were not magnetic.
