Anyone else want manual control?

I've submitted this ticket before, but I want others to pile on, too. Doesn't it seem like there would be SOME way to allow manual controls for future Joule? Allow the top button to twist, or make it have touch-responsive area? I like Alexa controls, but sometimes I just want a 'dumb' device that I can control.

Anyone else out there pining for this? Don't want an anova, but that's the one feature I miss the most.

Between the app, alexa, and physical "off" control, I'm pretty happy. I will say that the few seconds that the app takes to locate joule is sometimes mildly annoying. I would like to see quicker app recognition of joule.

Yeah, I consider the lack of on-device controls a deal-breaker.

I don't have a Joule yet - still waiting for their UK release - so maybe my outlook would be different after actually owning/using one, but personally I like that it has a minimum of moving parts. Fewer mechanical elements means fewer things that can fail. I've got a Sansaire right now with its 'twist ring,' and while it works it's a bit of a pain to get at because of where I keep my tank.

There are plenty of ways to implement manual control without a single moving part. Both my cooktop and oven have touch buttons, and they're over a decade old.
