Best value Blender in 2018?
awryanz
Heyo! Does anyone here have a preference on blenders? I’m staring down the barrel of an online shopping cart with a few different models and I can’t decide. Should I be grabbing a Waring, Vitamix, or Blendtec?

Waring Xtreme would be my first choice, vitamix (which I have) would be my second.

Waring Xtreme is what i have as well. It's a great blender, but all blenders you listed are solid machines.

Waring Xtreme here as well. I have no affiliation, but I would recommend
Webstaurant Store
. Their customer service is A+.

Appreciate it! My only problem with the Waring is the 2 speed control. Is that ever an issue for you? I find myself being a control freak, so that concerns me.

My dealings with that company have been terrific as well. FWIW, I've had a Vitamin for years and have been very satisfied with it.

Waring has several models that are variable speed. You'll need to do some searching to find the one that most accommodates your needs, but not every model they make is low and high speeds.

As
@brian
mentioned diferent models. I suspect the MX1200 would give you what you need.

I have a variable speed Waring Xtreme and it does everything I've ever asked it to. I bought an aftermarket tamper from Alterna Jar (it's their "Universal Tamper"). Works well enough well. I don't like Blendtecs or the fancier Vitamixes because the interface sucks. Give me 2 switches and a dial, please.

I also have the variable speed Waring Xtreme. I prefer a simple switch and analog, so that's why I would stray away from Blendtecs, but in my opinion, the big 3 are all very comparable in terms of functionality. The deciding factors are everything else such as price, size, weight, sound, interface, etc. But that's just my opinion

I've used Vitamix for a year with no problem and still works well. It's one of the
best blenders
for home use and also got number one of

Between those three, I'd recommend Vitamix first (
S30
was my first one, and it worked quite well), Waring second, Blendtec third.
But if you're open to other options as well, as an apartment warming gift, my boyfriend's mother bought us a
Ninja Blender
. I have used it on occasion to blend ice and mix to make great frozen adult drinks and it works very well and quick. She tends to use it more often to make smoothies in the morning and the occasion baking/cooking recipe that calls for it (hot squash soup, i think).
We both recommend it.
But I agree with Jeffrey, it's hard to recommend anything not knowing your requirements. How big is your family? Or you're looking for a personal one?

I’m not too keen on Blendtec. Nor Waring. But that’s just me. I think you should check out a buyer’s guide, the kinds you see on big blogs like
healthykitchen101
or
The wire cutter
, and not the sponsored kind. It’s much easier than sifting through replies, in all honesty. More information and honesty.

Oh, I know the struggle. What did you finally choose? It's really hard to make a choice between these notorious big dogs of the blending world. Well, I'm using the Vitamix s30, and I'm really pleased with it! I find it one of
the best blender for frozen fruits
and for crushing nuts as well. It has 10 variable speed controls and has a pulse function, which allows you to create a finer texture. However, I haven't tried the one from Blendtec yet, and I can't tell you anything about it. Just make a list of pros and cons, and you'll have a clearer view upon them.

A while back I ended up grabbing the 2 speed vitamix. After a few years of working with it, I do wish I could try the waring extreme if only for the smoother vessel which would make everything out of the blender much easier. But I generally find that I didn’t need the variable speed, and for anything that is sufficiently liquidy (read: not too thick to scoop), it both blends and exits very well.
