what is the suitable transformer to use?

Hi, I just bought the joule but i can't find suitable information on which kind of transformer to buy. I went to many electrical shops and they told me that i should buy a 2500W transformer or higher watt (e.g. 3000W,3500W) as it is a heating element so the Watt of the transformer needs to be 2 times higher than the device (Joule- 1100W). Problem is I don't really want to buy higher watt transformer because it is very pricey and I don't think it is necessary as the average temperature used is not that high therefore don't require that high voltage.

Can anyone suggest me the ideal transformer for me to play with Joule?

So just to confirm, according to Chris’s post, it is safe to use joule with 1500W transformer?
