Sauce or Marinade Also in Bag?

When vacuum sealing a bag for sous vide, is there a safe way to also add say a cup of sauce in liquid form? I fear if I just tried it the liquid might come flying up the bag opening when vacuuming and make a real mess. I think if I freeze solid the liquid beforehand it might work, but I'd like to skip that step. I see Joule used to sell sauces but they're no longer offered, and I wonder how such liquids were handled.

The ‘Joule Ready’ liquid sauces were supplied in heavy duty ziplock bags — not vacuum bags. The directions said to place your food in the bag with the sauce and then use the ‘water displacement’ method which squeezes out most the air in the bag as you lower it into the water bath. Then you zip the bag closed to prevent air returning inside the bag. Worked really well and bags stayed submerged due to their heavy construction. Regular ziplock bags may need a weight or magnets or clips to prevent them from floating upward in the water bath, especially if you haven’t squeezed out most of the air inside the bag.
