New hardware any time soon?

What are the chances we will see any update to the Joule hardware any time soon?

That is an interesting question, since I have trouble imagining how the Joule could be dramatically improved. If you look into the details of its engineering, much of which hasn't really been discussed by ChefSteps except in some obscure interviews, it is a pretty incredible device (it even determine your altitude!).
What would you improve or change about it? I could imagine:
1) The same form factor, but also with some onboard controls (since requiring a smartphone seems to be a hangup for some people)
2) Even faster heating, although it is already so much faster heating than its competitors that I don't see much demand for this (strange that ChefSteps doesn't brag about it)
3) Maybe, like Anova, a more powerful "pro" version that is designed to have a longer operating lifespan for restaurant environments and handle larger bath volumes
4) Quieter, although it is pretty quiet already (especially compared to the annoying high frequency sound of the new Anova that people are complaining about)
At least for me, I've had zero issues with connectivity, and based on the Amazon 1-star review percentage, Joule seems to be more reliable than its competitors.
Of course you can make anything faster, better, stronger, cheaper, but in my mind it is already so close to perfect in that I can't see much demand for any changes. But maybe I'm not imaginative enough!
BTW, the ex CEO Chris did seem to imply some new hardware by the end of the year in an interview at the time of the Breville buyout, but it was unclear to what he was referring. We have seen the Turbo beta test, but that's software. A Joule combi oven would be at the top of my wish list lol.

Has there been any changes to the Joule hardware since its initial release. I recently purchased a Joule from Amazon, but it appears to have an older style of packaging (from when the product was initially released a few years ago). If there have been any changes to the hardware since that time (even small changes), I'd like to know so I can return it and try and find a more current version.

Not to my knowledge, except they came out with the less expensive White version (there was also briefly a rose gold one exclusively through Williams Sonoma), which has a plastic top and bottom instead of stainless steel. No other difference between them as far performance or reliability (assuming you don't drop it, I guess). If you are worried about having somehow got an old one, file a help ticket and I'm sure they can determine its build date remotely.
