Anyone have the paella pans and use them as an oven roaster? For example, I typically use my Lodge cast iron for roast chicken. I just wish they had a slightly larger paella pan.

I love my No. 34 paella as an oven roaster. The No. 35 would be a whole centimeter better.

I use them all, but the sarten 27 and the sarten 25 I use the most. I actually use the 25 more than the 27

Hi there. Yep I use it like that, and I even used it on raw braises... I live in Buenos Aires now, where those pans are made... It's such a small shop, but it is soo good ;-)... I have one pan of 35cm that they sold me for cheap because the metal sheet was 2mm too thick... Let me tell you that when that one is hot, it's hot ;-)

Anyone have an opinion on the handle shape (or lack there of) between the saute pan and the paella pan?

I have some de buyer carbon steel pans but always interested in new cookware. Getting another sauté pan feels redundant so I wonder if the paella pan handle is better for anything.

I love my paella because it's big. A 35cm pan with a handle would be unwieldy; with the loops, it's sort of like a shakeable plancha. I know that some people like the smaller paellas to cook in and serve from or use inside countertop ovens like the Breville smart oven or the Cusinart steam oven.
