Heraeus Biofuge 15 Centrifuge

Hi All

I've got an opportunity to buy a Heraeus Biofuge 15 Centrifuge for $75. However it doesn't have refrigeration. Is it not worth bothering to use a centrifuge without refrigeration?

You can certainly get by without refrigeration. But at this price, I would check the condition pretty carefully and try to find out what it was used for (radioactive or nasty biological materials would be a deal breaker for me). Also, the condition of the rotor (the part that spins) really needs to be evaluated by someone who services these machines before you run it at high speeds.
