Quick recommendation for a newbie please?

Can someone recommend a great digital scale for a beginners with pastry and baking that has the ability to measure halves? Such as 2.5 grams. I know nothing about calibration and hope that whatever that is I can avoid it lol? I just want a great digital scale capable of measuring half’s? MANY THANKS! Katrina

After looking on Amazon I thought I should list more deets for what I’m looking for in a digital scale based on what my current scale doesn't have. My must-have options for a digital scale are: able to give measurements in halves such as 2.5g, able to stay ON so either the option to override auto-off or just not offer “timed”at all, displays units in g, kg, fl.oz, oz, lb. Next I will list qualities I’d also like but can live without: not super big, backlight, display numbers are not tiny, battery and plug options, available via Amazon prime, has bakers %. But those are in a perfect world

I can spend around the $50 mark or less or a little more if worth it. Thank you kindly!

It is difficult to find scales that can measure large amounts with accuracy of less than a gram with a price tag as low as you're wanting. This is a problem that all of us face, and the (budget) solution that seems to be what everyone does is to get two scales: one large scale that has accuracy/resolution of 1 gram and can measure many pounds/kgs, and another smaller scale with a capacity of 500g (or whatever) that is accurate to a tenth or hundredth of a gram. The two-scale solution isn't elegant, but it *is* inexpensive, and so it's what I've ended up doing. And using two scales works just fine in practice and doesn't feel like a nuisance.

The one scale I know of that ticks all your boxes is the My Weigh KD-8000. It's just under $50 on Amazon Prime, has baker's percentages, big screen with backlight, and programmable off/on behavior with battery and plug options. It's kinda big, but not really. If you get one of those and a cheap pocket scale that's accurate to a tenth of a gram, you'll be set. (These only cost like $9). If you think you'd ever use it, you can pay a bit more and get one that's accurate to a hundredth of a gram. Those are useful if you're ever going to work with hydrocolloids.

The other ideas @Brandon_Byrd_40557 mentioned regarding pocket scales are also worth considering. I have the others listed below (yes I have all of them) as well for weighing hydrocolloids and such.
