Blender

Hello guys,

I would like to buy a new blender.

Do you guys have any preference concerning the brand/model? (Thermomix, vitamix, blendtec, omniblend,…)?

I know vitamix has a more powerful motor then the Thermomix and a smaller/higher/see-through mixing bowl which is great for smaller amounts.

The great advantage on the thermomix is the temperature control, but the vitamix also heats up by the friction while blending. I don’t know if the thermomix maintains a certain chosen temperaturesetting while continuing blending?

Does anyone have any comment on the plus/cons of different blenders, or others brands i don’t know about?

i own a vitamix and use a thermomix a lot at work. the thermo is a really cool bit of kit and id love to get one for home use someday to play around with at the end of the day the vitamix is better at blending which to be fair is its main task

I love my Vitamix. I have thought of getting a Thermomix, but not to replace my Vitamix. To me, it has a different purpose (cooking).

Late to the party. I have the Waring Xtreme after my Vitamix ent down. At the time it was $150 less than vitamix and more HP.

I have a Thermomix and if you're blending the temperature will naturally rise (there is no cooling function). It's a great unit for custards, fluid gels, risottos, rice (quinoa etc) in general.

Waring Xtreme still going strong after 10 years
