Breville+ app not available?

Hi! I'm researching sous vide and I'm interested in purchasing a Joule Turbo. I understand that, so far, the only available models are US only. So, to use them outside the US (e.g. the UK or Australia) I'd have to use a transformer.

However, the main issue I've found so far is that I'm not able to install the Breville+ app that I'd need to control the device! I can't find it when I search for it in Google Play on my phone. However, I can find it on Google Play in my browser but the "Install" button is grayed-out (even when it says "This app is available for all of your devices").

My guess is that the app is restricted to US-only? :-? Can it be installed outside the US? (e.g. if I buy the Joule Turbo while I'm living in the US and I need to use it after moving abroad, how would I be able to do that?)

I just went through this whole ridiculous region-only-limitations thingy.

1) Set up a MyUs account. Order Joule Turbo from amazon.com and use MyUs service to forward to Europe (or wherever you live)

2) Make or order an inverter to make JT to work in your AC environment (for me 110V > 230 V)

3) Open a new US AppleID or Google account to be able to download the app to run the thing. 

You can use the address and phone from 1), no need for a credit card or a cell phone (doable overseas, but not very conveniant). I used VPN to make my connection look like it’s from the US, but I can’t say if this is really necessary.

4) I recommend using a cell phone other than what you use in your daily life to log in to your new Apple or Google US account in order to use the Joule Turbo. Makes a mess in your mobile if you swap between regions all the time.

Is it worth it?

I do not know if ChefSteps will be up and running after -say.- 5 years, will there be updates to the JT firmware (or if it has been designed to tbe able to be updated at all), to the software and so on. For me I kinda have a sandbox version to run it for now.

Given all the trouble, time and money spent I would probably now choose a SV product readily available for the local market outside US.
