I have to say, I was skeptical of the Breville app, but the connectivity is better to my (OG, old) joules. I don’t really use anything other than manual cooks, and like the new app!

What does "Better connectivity" mean in this context? Do I need two apps once I've paired to Breville+ , or does it replace the Joule app?

I read elsewhere that you are shifting users of the Breville app to a subscription model. You make no mention of this in your FAQ. Please address.

Breville+ is free to use!

Hi there! The switch to Breville+ is just for North America for now, but we are working on expanding! Joule owners outside the US and Canada will still have access to the original Joule app in the meantime.

Hey so what happens if I start a turbo recipe and then my phone loses connection during the cook? Does the Joule continue cooking using the algorithm or does it just hold a fixed temperature?

Total fail with the Breville app - last 4 of 5 cooks just stop with no way to continue the cook. At least with the old app the cook would continue until I could regain a connection. Customer service a joke. Thinking of finding a new company to solve my sous vide needs.

I have loved my Joule since it first came out and it worked nearly flawlessly until Breville borked it up. The new app is an utter piece of frustration. I am a very tech savvy person and this app refuses to work at all. I deleted and reinstalled it and tried 5 times to get it to work before deleting it in disgust. Now the old app /device no longer works with Alexa so all this change has removed most functionality. I can start it but not stop it short of unplugging it. No one else in the house can use it as a result of the app ruining the Alexa functionality.

Will the ChefSteps Visual Doneness guides be transferred to the Breville+ app? This is a major feature of ChefSteps and currently doesn’t seem to be readily available on the Breville+ app.
