Candied Chicken?
Uri_67904
So I know this is going to sound strange, but I am trying to experiment and wanted some advice and/ or tips. I know there is candied yams, ginger, etc. Has anyone ever tried to cany chicken or meat? Would anyone have advice on how to do so?
Thanks!

I have had some really good salmon"candy"
It's a Native American treat that can be readily found in the Pacific NW.

I have never tasted any candied meat that I was especially fond of personally. Does anyone just find candied bacon and stuff just to be a gimmick and not a whole lot else? Maybe I am just missing something and I have never had a good enough one.

@SamuelG
: I've had good candied bacon before here in Chicago (at Honky Tonk BBQ). My suspicion is that the bacon has to be thick enough for there to be a good balance between salty, smokey, and sweet. The thickness also helps to keep the texture pleasant. If you try to candy thinner bacon, it may just wash out to be a soggy, overly sweet mess. Regardless of how it's cooked, it's not an everyday food -- and I could eat regular bacon every day!
