I had just received the Polyscience smoking gun this past weekend and wanted to test it out on something quick & simple. I tried it out with some feta cheese and roasted veggies. I put them into a bowl and smoked it with the sample apple wood and closed the lid. After a few minutes I tasted a piece or each and they were very ashy tasting and a bit off putting. From the reviews that I've read some people have mentioned this but others have mentioned that it adds a nice slight smoke taste which wasn't the case with me. I was wondering if there are some better techniques or restraint needed with the gun to achieve a more palatable smoke taste. Maybe the container I used was to small and the smoke was more concentrated? Let the smoke sit in the bowl for too long? Any advice?
