Plastic wrap for microwaving
jbh212
What kind of cling wrap should I use for microwaving veggies and other dishes. I used glad and other grocery store kinds for trying the fried herbs and the plastic wrap would melt. Any help?

It's weird, I tried glad wrap (it said microwavable, so look for that) for those and it worked. I would be happy to hear recommendations for commercial plastic wrap brands though.

Did you use the appropriate power setting on your microwave? I've had things melt in the past when making the fried herbs because I forgot to turn the power down.

Make sure you are buying the glad brand that specifically states microwave safe and see if it states a max power rating for your microwave. I've had microwaves vary between 800-1100W over the years and it makes a huge difference if you just always run it on max power.

In support of Brendan, this worked agai today/this evening. Previously, I did not look for "microwave safe" note on box. I did this time and it has been fine. I cannot say the other Glad brand/types I tried had the same on the box (or didn't) but it definitely did not work (it melted). Small detail, big difference. FWIW.

Yep, this worked for me, the glad kind that is microwave safe has microwave instructions on the bottom
