How to fake skinning a deer for a movie scene using transglutiminase, a.k.a.,meat glue?

It's out of season for deer hunting but I have to come up with a deer to skin for a movie scene. It's a low budget film so I can't go hog wild on a special effects fake deer and there is definitely no budget to CGI something in. So I'm wondering if it might be possible to film a closer scene (that hides the fact there is no whole deer hanging up getting skinned and butchered!) using some deer hide, a farmed venison quarter and some meat glue? Does anyone at ChefSteps have any experience using transglutiminase that has any suggestions? I'm getting a bit desperate :-( I'm not sure if there is any give between the hide and the meat so that you could actually use a skinning knife to cut the hide away from the meat and make it look remotely realistic. You could just glue the hide to the meat since nobody is eating it. My concern with the hide is that it has probably been treated to prevent it from spoiling so how well it will adhere to the meat is an unknown for me.

I'd say try and find a piece of deer with as much fat and sinew as you can get your hands on, attach the skin to the fat with glue, and then when you are filming the closeup it will look like the skin is coming off with that subcutaneous layer.

I can't imagine that you would be able to make it look real.

Deer skin isn't bound to the tissue below in the way that swine skin is.

I suggest looking for a brown goat or a hair sheep as a stand-in.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I haven't ever used meat glue before and was hoping to find someone with practical experience with it. I guess it's Mad Scientist time in the kitchen. Now if only venison weren't so dadgum expensive... I'll let you know how it goes.
