Yeah I noticed that too, but we didn't do it.. Vanilla forums added it. But something similar will start showing up in comments on our site soon thanks to Nick & Andrew, and eventually in a replacement for the forum.

Hi @SteveM - no, that doesn't currently exist. When you search, it does search the tags too which act like categories, but there isn't currently a list of categories you can see. Maybe there should be.

This may exist already and I am just missing it, but in the recipe section is there index or grouping by category? I know I can search, but sometimes I would like to see all the stuff related to fish or some other category.

@Michael - perhaps a class or demonstration on maximizing the features/techniques available using a chamber sealer? Quick pickling, veg/fruit compression, infusions, etc ... I'd love to see a quick video on how to make the custard infused french toast!

Not exactly a feature request, more like a request for a feature removal? Whenever I bookmark a certain recipe/activity I get a notification of that on my profile page. To me that seems a bit redundant. Obviously I know I liked the video, since I'm the one clicking on the link. Not sure why I'd need to be reminded of my own activity on the site.

Notifications for achieving certain badges, reactions to my comments and all that are really welcome of course.

I know you guys have been doing it already, but as far as recipes/videos go I would like to see more of a "classics" section or line of videos that shows the classic dishes done from start to finish.

I love seeing how you guys go about it the "ChefSteps" way. Everything from eggplant parm to fish sticks, even a fried bologna sandwich with your twist on it.

Or possibly a line of videos that highlight technique (I know you have been doing some here and there), kinda like Jacques Pepin's La Technique.

I just caught the video of Chef Grant breaking down a halibut...and I've seen the salmon one as well. I love that kind of stuff.

I know I'm a single person, but I rather hate comments. To me they dirty a page and rarely lead to valuable discussion. But I tend to agree with you with respect to forums as well.

@Ryan Jones - we do have some of the hRecipe markup in there - you can't see it if you do view page source because we are all ajaxy, you have to do Inspect Element. But the basic itemprops are in there. I notice "ingredient" isn't tagged anymore though, I'll fix that soon. The ajax stuff may confuse some 3rd party apps. You can try feed them a static page with this syntax if you are really into it: "http://www.chefsteps.com/activities/salmon-104-f?_escaped_fragment_="

Agree with you that the comments don't make a good way to discuss things right now, because you don't get any notification. But not sure the forum would be better - that would be many hundreds of new threads. We are in the early phases of a plan to create a much better interaction and commenting system but honestly it is many months away. I could switch it to disqus comments (like we have on recipes) if you guys would prefer that. That at least gives you a way to get email notifications.

Is it possible to provide html tags for recipes in hrecipe format? While not THE standard, it helps make recipes somewhat standardized across the web, enabling additional functionality, like organizing meals with offline software, etc.

As this ingredient wiki is taking off, is it possible to have each ingredient linked to a forum thread, so discussion can take place (sort of like the moderator aspect of wikipedia, to discuss and debate aspects of certain ingredients, or even inquire further about info. I'm not sure if the comments aspect fully achieves this goal.
