Thermomix is sold via a consultant visiting you and showing you the machine. They are not sold in the US.
The site
SuperKictchenMachine.com
has info on the Thermomix.
If you know someone north of the boarder in BC or
Québec
you could get them to buy it and ship it to you.

Thats what i was afraid of.
Who wants to start an email barrage to vorwek and demand the thermomix in the states?

Thermomix can be shipped to the US (I corresponded with them in Quebec a few months ago). However, I would tend to agree that if you have someone in Canada you know, they could ship fro their home and likely avoid custo ms charges if shipped as a gift.I suspect someone here could help. If not, let me know and I'll see if I can assist (have family in Canada).

Très bien Todd,
I'm moving back to the states after cooking in France for a year and a half.. So I'm just trying to try and get my precious thermomix in the new kitchen.
Merci!

@Brendanmarcello
, We look forward to welcoming you to the US. I'm a transplant from canada so still have some contacts there (though my French is very poor). The Thermomix is on my growing list of tools for the kitchen. On another note, welcome to the Chefsteps group. They have developed a tremendous group of great people and provide exceptional advice and teachings here. We all look forward to your contributions. A simple home cook like myself selfishly benefits from so many others here. :-) Merci!

Hello all et Bonjour;
I am an independent and unaffiliated Thermomix blogger based on Vancouver Island, Canada. I have owned Thermomix since 2009 and have been a ChefStep member for over a year as I love the quality of the content here and the production values, plus always looking for new ways to adapt recipes and have fun with Thermomix. To be clear, I do not sell the machine. But I am a fan of well-designed tools and efficiency -- Thermomix offers both in spades and won me over despite its price tag.
I want to thank Tim Sutherland for putting a link to my blog in his reply. (Didn't know that was allowed!) If anyone wants to be kept up to date with the Thermomix in USA question, I invite you to contact me directly via this page:

It's nice to see more North American interest for this powerful machine. If you don't know anything about it, let me just say there are a few of us out here.... more than 7 million home cooks and chefs use Thermomix world-wide, mostly in Spain, France, Italy, Germany and Australia. Just ask Google ;-)

Welcome Helene! We look forward to hearing more about it as we save our $$. :-) So many things on the list to acquire.

Hi, I just noticed the Thermomix thread. I bought one and it arrived yesterday. My demo included bread, soup, and dessert in about a 90 minutes. Best focaccia I've ever had, same with the sweet potato ginger soup. I don't know why they don't sell in the USA, but on the last page of the manual it states that if you use it ANYWHERE in the US, they cannot be held liable for ................ the list is long, including injury, damage and death. They even say that they did NOT design it for the US. I'm not even sure what that means, as I think our power cords are identical, we both cook, we both know how to measure. Once I unpack it, I''ll try to take photos and try a few noob recipes.

Hi Darcy -- great to hear you are experimenting with my fave kitchen machine. Yes, Thermomix was in fact sold in USA for a short time (2007?) but that ended almost before it began, as I've heard it. (Remember: I do not now, nor did I ever sell it, so all I know is what I've heard through the grapevine...) There are a few reasons or rumours as to why this short selling streak ended, and I have my own suspicions. Despite all that, it's hard to keep a good thing down. People who try Thermomix quickly fall in love with it, as did I. I was a reluctant first time user/tester and when borrowing one from a friend it so bowled me over that I ended up buying his and not letting it leave my kitchen. Seriously. You're going to have fun with this Darcy

I communicated directly with the company and unfortunately, they have no plans to enter the US market for their latest version (TM31). Their reasoning is licensing and regulatory issues.

Hey Darcy, I am glad you also purchased the Thermomix honestly its one of the best kitchen electrics out there. From personal experience though I would most defiantly suggest getting a voltage converter before plugging that bad boy in the wall. I lived in Madrid for a year and brought mine back with me, however I made the silly mistake of just using a adapter and not a converter leading to a messed up motor. I can't say for sure if the voltage is same as the US in Canada, but better safe than sorry no? Life has never been the same since its departure lol.
Helene_Meurer_7924
Elias is right about using a converter instead of an adapter, but that's NOT necessary when using machines from Canada in the US. The Canadian model is in fact a North American model, works from Canada to Mexico. Our voltage here in Canada is exactly the same as in the USA. However, I do advise people (I get a lot of emails about this each week on the blog) to use converter/transformers if bringing a machine from Europe to use in North America. I appreciate your note of caution Elias, but Darcy is absolutely good to go straight into the wall with his Canadian machine. Hope this helps.

Awesome for Darcy and Thanks Helene, your knowledge of Thermomix is indispensable!

Hi Helene,
I am a travelling/ working chef in the States for a weeks work. I decided to bring my European Thermomix with me. I first tried it with an adapter, it said Error 24. I since read up alot of forums and blogs and bought a (basic, $30) converter, this does not even turn the TM on. However the adaptor function on this new adapter/converter does..it at least lets me use the scales function and nothing else!
Could you please direct me as to how to get this European TM to function in the US. I am here for another 2 weeks work later in the Summer and would intend to bring the TM with me if I solve this problem.
Any assitance would be greatly appreciated!
Best,
Paul
