Thermocouple link in Thermometer Post

You guys should update your suggested thermocouple in your post on thermometers:

The one you recommend has a cable and handle that melt at a pretty low temp (around 200F) and so it's not suitable for leaving in a piece of meat in the smoker or oven. As best as I can tell you guys are using:

The first thermometer you cite is an instant read type, not meant to be left in the protein. You open the oven/grill/smoker and check the temp in a few seconds, then remove the thermometer and close the heat source. But I have seen people goof and end up with a melted mess of plastic ...
