Best Sources for Tableware

I am trying to find some interesting / different tableware and I noticed a number of folks in the community have some cool serving vessels. I'm in the LA area if that matters, but any advice on places to look would be swell. My initial thought is to find some earthenware style similar to what they use at Qui in Austin (these are handmade) - http://kreegerpottery.com/2013/03/tableware-for-paul-qui/ as well as some flat round plates which have a one inch vertical lip on the side.

Any suggestions for sources as well as other useful serving vessels?

CB2 and Crate and Barrel have some interesting stuff and usually have some good sales. I also like to browse stores like HomeGoods and TjMaxx for vessels to repurpose like candle holders and decorative bowls.

Since joining this site I have virtually become addicted to C&B. My wife yells at me all the time to stop bringing plates home. I'll get like one or two pieces, just for poops and smiles. As a result, I have like four dozen total plates/dishes, but I only have four or more of the same plates for like three designs, one of which is for outside.

And I also second the recommendation on the closeout stores; I got nearly all my first set of 'real' cookware at Tuesday Morning.
