Anyone know of any submersible thermocouple probes like the one shown on page 67 Modernist Cuisine at Home. The only ones I have and that I have found are not water friendly.

Thanks for the quick response. I should have offered a bit more detail. I am looking for a Type K hypodermic or penetrating type probe so I can monitor core temp of thing cooking sous vide while still sealed in the bag.

@Omar – Check out www.thermoworks.com they'll jave what you need. We purchased the probes used in MC from them.

There are also recommendation on the course page for thermometers and probes, the links are for amazon so they're cheaper than from the thermoworks site AFAIK

@Omar - @Chris is right! I picked up a small unit (MTC Thermocouple Thermometer - Model #MTC) with a hypodermic probe (Miniature Needle Probe - Model: 113-181 I believe) and case from thermoworks.com plus shipping, all in under $100. Can't beat it and its very accurate!

@Keith--cooled. I picked up the probed @Chris recommended. I also called ThermoWorks and they recommended the THS 113-182 ($48). Both work well so far. My foam tape just showed up from JB Prince, so now I am really dangerous.

@Omar Sultan If you could, I'd return the tape to JB Prince. Go to Home depot. It's weather stripping tape. High density foam tape made by 3M. It's about $8. They have a 10ft tape by frost king for $4.
