UK work?

I have been looking into trying to get a UK work visa so I can stage. It doesn't seem so straight forward. Has anyone been though the process?

It's difficult. Back in the day most restaurants didn't enforce visas for staging, but that's no longer true. At The Fat Duck we advised people to look into getting a BUNAC visa: www.bunac.org

FYI, more recently the UK has been revisiting their regulations on Visa's and such, although I doubt any of them are unsurmountable. I fortunately didn't have to do much of that when I lived there as I've got an italian passport.
