Samuel, I'm an all white or black kind of guy and have bought some really cool stuff from Walmart, as well as Front of The House (expensive) Crate and Barrel and Wayfair. Wallymart has Ten Strawberry Street 10.5" dinner plates for $25 for 12 http://www.walmart.com/c/kp/dinner-plates

CB2 is a good spot.

I visit Asian markets and stores and find small plates on sales at a few dollars each. Bed, Bath and Beyond, and their ilk, are good place to visit near the end of season for sales/close outs of plates etc.

Yep, I always take a look in the Goodwill store, got a killer bread make for dough for $6.18 and small (3cup?) Cuisinart food processor with all the attachments for the same price.
