I personally never cared for any of their scotches. They're too sweet for me or at least for what I want in a scotch. Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me but I always detected a hint of fermented rice flavor in there as well, reminded me a lot of the shitty cheap whiskey I drank while I lived in Thailand one summer.

It’s about water, malt roasting and distilling,….so why not, let’s check back in 15 Years.

I really like them, but I totally get what you are saying Brendan. I think that is what is so interesting about this whole thing, is it really is pushing the definition of what a Scotch is in terms of usual flavor profile. That's why I am interested to see what people think about this, because it is such a significant departure, and is so very different from Scottish Whiskeys.

I'm not a scotch drinker, but found this pretty interesting.
I didn't realize William Larue Weller 2013 was considered good enough to be the number 2 whisky in the world. Everything I've read is that this years William Larue Weller is unbelievable. Cool.

Interesting but I'm not a fan of scotch.

I'll get back to this in 15 or 20 years.

I believe this was cask aged for 15 years, then bottled in 2013; thats what I recall from reading another article on this whisky earlier this week. Waiting 15 years will not make a difference once the whisky has been bottled.
Parent company Suntory owns Laphroaig, Bowmore and Teacher’s as well as Yamazaki. Personally I think Hibeki 24 was the best I have ever tasted, but I missed experiencing this allegedly otherworldly whisky.
Outstanding article, blows my mind that Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old is
#3
on the list!

I've searched everywhere for this whisky with no luck.
I've tried a few Japanese whiskies recently though and have been incredibly impressed.
