I drop in to Whole Foods to purchase eggs and butter so I can knock out corn bread and pecan pie this afternoon. I normally try and stay away from the markets at lunchtime on the weekends as all the crazy shop once a week, bring all the kiddies with you, meander aimlessly about the store crowd is there. But the store also have the food vendors doing product flogs there - and they're great fun to talk to.
The
Jalsa Food stand is who I spent most of my time with. Their product is an Indian/Mexican spicy salsa, a little tame for me but a very nice product also marketed as cooking sauce/marinade. During our 30 minute rambling chinwag, home tandoor ovens were discussed, and I have found my latest coveted cooking appliance the
Homdoor charcoal tandoor oven. I now need to convince my wife it would be a great early Christmas present, but I think I used that up the last time UPS/FedEx dropped off a bunch of boxes of the
must-need-now, can't-live-without, the-world-will-end-if-I-do-not-have stuff that appeared on the door step.
