Not saying I still didn't eat them as much as I could when I grew up in Canada but the poutine we had out west wasn't nearly as good as it is in Quebec so it wasn't a go-to snack for me.

One more of our cultural difference is that Ketchup chips are very easy to find in Quebec. But when you live in Quebec Poutine is your go to junk food and not chips.... ;-)

Flamin' Hot Cheetos. I eat the whole bag in the car. I lick my fingers clean in the driveway. I throw the bag out in the neighbors trash. I come home and act like nothing happened.

Is popcorn considered junk food? Because I really love caramel/marshmallow/sweet popcorn. I always eat popcorn at the movies and sometimes make stove top popcorn at home using butter and icing sugar.

Mine would have to be a Greek melt. I first savored this delicacy of the university scene while in Plymouth uk. Its a baguette with chips bacon or kebab meat and cheese the perfect mess for someone who has enjoyed . but in the last few years when getting home from a good night i tend to make myself a risotto. I only eat junk food when I am intoxicated

Cheez-its. I like 'em, my wife likes 'em, even our cat does (which strikes us as weird/funny).

We only indulge in a box every other month or so, but....

I tried (very recently) to make them and got fairly close- this is the recipe that I used. It turned out pretty well, and I think that with a few minor tweaks (MSG!) it would be spot-on. I think it could be easily adapted to other cheeses too...

Spicy pork rinds or chicharones, sometimes with the one w/o heat, I like to dip it in chocolate, kinda like a play on bacon with chocolate. Has CS done anything w Pork Rinds?

Pie. Yes, I see it as junk food sometimes depending on where you get it from. I try to get it when possible but it seems my environment is the restraint, allowing me to get good pie maybe only once a month. However with the holiday season coming up, well, good pie is more accessible so who knows, maybe I'll have to restrain myself now. Unfortunately I haven't tried to make any successfully, but hopefully sometime soon I'll try.

My favorite junk food is the Lebanese version of the danish Flødebolle. The confection was called Ras el Abed but its now called Tarboush. It's a creamy light marshmallow on top of an arabic honey wafer then its enrobed in dark chocolate. I've been obsessed with them since I was a kid, and bring them back home every time I make a trip back to Lebanon. Would love to learn how to make them!

Doughnuts. Yeasty and hot, right out of the fryer. When I go back to Missouri, I head straight for the Doughnut Drive-In. They always have something cooking. Thank heavens I don't live there! Once or twice a year is all I can handle.

Yup. I have made them. Not actually super difficult actually. Just takes time and they are not better, really than Pringles. Pringles are great for their textures but the manufactured favors are really top notch.

Italian ice-cream. I mean... everything else is just ice flavored. I've never tried making it myself, I don't have the right equipment, so why bother!

In lack of a real gelato I allow myself a liter of Haagen-Dazs once in a while when I'm about to see a movie at home. Coffee is my favorite flavor, although its been a while since the last time. I don't find coffee flavored Haagen-Dazs anymore local!

And you don't know how hard is to say no to them when you come across with it everyday... when you go to the supermarket, when you go to a bar and they serve a tapa with every single beer you order, or when you go to your friends house. Potato chips are a universe in Spain!

Whataburger and Braum's.

Whataburger is your standard fast food burger chain. The patty melt or the A.1. Thick & Hearty Burger hit the spot the morning after a beer too many.

Braum's is a cross between a burger joint/7-Eleven/organic food mart/ice cream store. The weird mix works and the jalapeno burger followed by any of their ice creams is so good. A double scoop (Texas size scoops) cone is $2.16 including tax. The other crazy thing about Braum's is they are one of the world's largest diary operations as they own all the cows and process all the milk that goes into the ice cream, milk and other diary products they sell.

I hit one or the other about once a month for lunch.

Ketchup chips, they're like unicorns in america so when I get my hands on a bag they're gonzo. I'm also a sucker for mcnuggets with sweet and sour sauce. I will say I haven't indulged in mcfoolery in quite some time though. I did crush a bag of ketchup chips on Monday though.

Okay, my two biggest fast food indulgences are McRibs and Panda Express. I'm also a sucker for the local food truck scene, but that's very generic.

In terms of home noshing, I absolutely LOVE Chicken In A Biskit. I hadn't had them for years, then one day a coworker had a box and damn near ate the whole thing standing at his desk. (I replaced it, I not that guy)

Peanut butter, only if I can find some that's only peanuts and salt (no emulsifiers, no sugar, no oils). There was a period, when in lived London, when I could find Koeze's Kream-nut imported from the US and I went through almost two pounds a week. No point trying to make it, since it's not going to be as silky (even the chunky variety needs a smooth base).

Vinegar crisps, every time I can get my hands on some (in Italy it's not as easy as in the UK, so maybe 3/4 times a year). If I'm in withdrawal I buy regular ones, drown them in malt vinegar and eat them before they get soggy. I've been known to polish off a 150 g bag in less than two minutes. Tried making them at home but without a dehydrator they're just not as crunchy.

Being a pastry chef it's rare that I crave sweet junk food, but when I do it's a Snickers. And I sometimes make the fancy version Phil Howard developed at The Square because chocolate, caramel, salt and peanuts (see above) is possibly the most addicting combination ever.

Pepperoni pizza with double pepperoni and double cheese (maybe once or twice a year) or bologna sandwich with crispy ice berg lettuce and the freshest baked bread, lots of butter and extra old cheese. Once a year maybe......when I visit family in canada. Bologna has to be schneiders. Or schneiders red hot hot dogs......usually 6 or so at a sitting. And only when I visit family (if they have any - when younger would eat a dozen) haven't had them in about 3 years. :-(

Hands down it would be Pringles. I only allow myself to go in there maybe once a year because there is absolutely no stopping once I start. I'll polish off a whole tall can and shred the top of my mouth with chip shards and salt. I've never tried to make them myself, but I betcha someone at CS has.
