We probably manage something that resembles actual cooking on two weeknights and Sunday, scarf up some leftovers one or two more nights, and eat out or take out the rest of the time. I'm not proud of this, but the reality is that there just isn't enough time between when I get home from work and when we need to start kid bedtimes to do a lot of cooking. I suspect this is going to get a lot easier as my kids get older.

We eat out once a week generally. my wife travels at least three nights a week and therefore eats out at least five times each week. While she's gone I cook most every night experimenting with different things. And in truth, while there are certainly more advanced chef/cooks on this site, its just hard to get something in a restaurant better than I can create in our kitchen (forget about cost). Instead of going out to dinner with a group our friends ask what raw materials do I need to make everybody dinner and they go buy it.... and bring wine ;-D
PS this doesn't include WD-50, Per say, FL, Alinea etc....

I cook for other families four nights a week (Mon-Thurs). Saturday lunch my wife and I eat at a restaurant and Sunday breakfast we eat at a cheap greasy spoon diner ($25 including tax and tip and we don't need to eat until dinner). On the days I cook for others, my wife either has food that I have left for her or she pulls something from the freezer she made in bulk. I can count on one hand the number of home deliveries in the last year, and most are due to arriving home in the late afternoon after a week of traveling.
The last dinner I had in a restaurant in Dallas (where I live) was a week ago at a new place that just opened. Dinner in a restaurant in Dallas before that was at least two maybe 3 years ago. I am an überharsh critic when dining out and I am usually disappointed with unimaginative menus, overcooked proteins, and I utter despise the American turn-and-burn service mentality, that most restaurants have.

Other than the occasional night out...every night.

5 out of 7 usually. We usually eat out on the weekends save for the occasional sunday dinner. I cook every other night of the week.

I cook SO much at work that the last thing I want to do when I get home is cook. I, more often than not, eat at work. On my days off, its simple, comforting food like donburi, poached eggs, pastas, etc. Friends and I often get together for dinner and, at that point, I try and pull out the stops. That's usually 2 or 3 times a month.

For the past several years, that was down to once or even none at all. Since I got the Anovas, that's up to around 4-5 nights a week. Trying to add another night of cooking to the mix. We still like to get takeout on Fridays and kick the weekend off with a beer and some Thai or Indian delivery.

I cook and bake minimum of 6 times a week. I love doing it and since we gout sous vide, it became so easy that I also make gateaux 3 times a week:)
