Inspired by today's washout weather in Boston, what is your favorite thing to make (or eat!) on a cold rainy day?

A spicy bowl of curry .. Nothing better on a cold day

well.....we had a day like that last week, where I made CS/Riley's lasagna, so that quickly moved high on my list. Mughal curry the following day was also an excellent choice (similar weather). ISOP Chilli might just rank

on my list for the moment. I try to keep some in stock/on hand. It's great on a cold evening.

A simple
minestrone
or bibimbap in a smoking hot stone bowl... I just got one of the dolsot bowls that you can heat to a million degrees on the stovetop. You can sit eating it for 20 minutes and feel the heat radiate right into your chest, and every bite is sizzling. Awesome.

On a wet cold day I like to eat food that warms you up from the inside like a nice Pad Thai. Love that heat from inside out. If I am more in the comfort food mood than I will go for making up some nice home made mac and cheese. Cant beat it!

"Graupensuppe" which, i think has no direct translation in english, but it's basically a vegetable stew with lots of pearl barley and smoked sausages.

I try to keep some CS "melty cheese" on hand for a ham and grilled cheese sandwich with a quick homemade cream of tomato soup.

This reminds me of childhood, every time!

In English it's basically a Barley soup. I've had this a few times on my trips to germany and it's quite satisfying. My mother (who is german) mad ea version when I was young, but used beans and the sausage wasn't smoked. Good, but wasn't near the same (obviously).

Irish lamb stew or shepherd's pie hits the spot when the weather rolls in.

I took the day to think about it; I'm split between a nice bowl of thai red curry or a bowl of pho. I can't decide which one is better!
