The smell of cheese baking in the oven. Makes me think of when my Mom would make us her baked mac and cheese. One of my favorite dishes growing up, simple and delicious!

Bolognese sauce bubbling away on the stove. Wherever I live isn't really home until I've made a batch.

The smell of freshly roasted and ground spices! Coriander seeds, cardamom, peppercorns, star anise, red chilies, cinnamon, fenugreek seeds, turmeric, nutmeg, mace, mustard seeds. I could go on and on! Every meal was a beautifully orchestrated medley of spices, herbs and aromatics.

Breaded steaks. My dad would get incredibly thin steaks from the arabic butcher shop, bread them with herbs and spices and then fry them up. One of my favourites growing up.
