DIY - Rage quit :)
I just thought I'd share this for all you fellow D.I.Y people out there.
The other fortnight I decided to put a belly in the bath, at around 11pm a fuse went in the kitchen and the element
was going hay-wire, the SSR had decided to pack it in, they do have a limited life-time, the
temp was around 105C, had to re-think that whole thing.
Drank a few too many glasses of wine in anger and wondered what the hell I needed to do about
the upcoming event I was cooking for.
Spoke to the wife in the morning, she asked why I just didn't go buy two new circulators, it isn't as
if I haven't saved the money on dining out, delicious dinners had but the tinkering hits on the wallet too.
So - after being accused of being stubborn and a bit stupid (That has happened quite often over the last decade or so) I decided to pack it in, I went out and got
two professionals. Now this is probably going to sound like marketing but since -
I've had peace of mind, they have floating switches, heating switches and are ETL rated.
They've run 24/7 since I got them on I Friday, they have gone from 42 - 90, to 65, to 62.
I did pork belly again, lobster, desserts, veggies all with complete freedom and not worrying about
heat, fuses or overshoot.
--- If you have been doing D.I.Y - I'm betting you've been limiting yourself a bit to beef and simple
proteins like pork and chikun' - There were a ton of applications I avoided before since I didn't entirely
trust the equipment and while the "parts" are the same, there is something to say about really solid engineering.
