brianzgz_75099
Hi there,
I´m planning to buy a Sous Vide circulator from Vac-star. Has anyone know anything about this brand?
This are the product details:
– Simplest intuitive operation analogue to our SousVide water baths.
– Equipped with an SSR and powerful ventilation for cooling the electronics to ensure long durability.
– PID controlled temperature control.
– Temperature constancy 0.05° C.
– Powerful circulation pump 16 l/min.
– Suitable for a water bath volume of up to 40 litres.
– High grade INOX heating coil with 1300 watt heat output.
– Casing made of high quality, robust and food safe plastic.
– Easy to clean.
– 2 year warranty
Thanks in advance

I think that is the exact same licensed product as the polyscience creative.
I got that for my parents last year. It isn't a 24/7 unit but it has good
circulation, heats up fast and works well.

The chef II looks more futuristic and it does look like it is more aligned for
Continuous use.

Thanks Johan,
I will go then for the chef II, the price is quite reasonable as well and looks good

I bought the sous vide kit with the vac-star easy vacuum machine. The chef II has a very good circulation as Johan said and heats quick. The price is very good for both of them and no problems appeared so far!

I have the original Vac Star Chef model.
I originally purchased the Addelice machine and had all sorts of issues with unreliable temperature readings (I saw 169C once!). They gave me a refund and kept sending the machine back to me so I have it boxed up in my basement.
The Vac Star model is still going well with only minor issues. When setting the temperature it sometimes jumps ahead 0.7 degrees and it needed a little oil inside before the first use.
I'm sure the 2nd iteration will be improved.

Hi
@Panouil
Moujito, Hows the Vac-star vacuum machine that comes with the sous vide kit works?
Panouil_Moujito_37393
It's very good actually. It has a pulse faction for delicate items and a 9 second auto vacuum! I always pulse my food so i can control the vacuum. Lets say if i see any juice coming out of a stake during vacuum i stop and seal the bag.

can you crank your vac-star 2nd gen sous vide beyond 90c?
the web site says it can go up to 99c but mine maxed out at 90c.

Oops. Sorry here. I mis read your original post. Looks like you are purchasing a circulator unit. I thought you were contemplating a water bath, which is what I'm needing to go for. For some reason my original response went to another one of your posts. Sorry about that too.
