Possible Unauthorized Use of ChefSteps Intellectual Properties

Hi ChefSteps,

First and foremost, I am a huge fan of ChefSteps. I have been watching all the videos on Youtube, and I finally created an account here today. Thanks for everything you are doing. Your videos are incredibly educational and inspiring for people like me.

I want to bring your attention to a Facebook page called Cullinary Encyclopedia. Link is here: https://www.facebook.com/93621344LYS?fref=nf

They claim to be a community for chefs (Korean community), but almost all of their post are basically your videos. Using this method, they managed to become a very popular page among Koreans (almost 150k likes), and probably has a decent potential for making profits for the page creators.

I am not entirely familiar with the laws regarding these situations, but I thought it was worth notifying you guys about it.

Chefsteps does Korea. :-) Helping spread the word. The only difference is here they basically say they help everyone not just chefs. Personally I think it's a great thing as "Chefsteps" can be seen all over that page. :-)

I agree Todd. It's great to see ChefSteps being seen and loved by many around the world

I was particularly alarmed in this case, because abuse of intellectual properties by Facebook pages for profit has become an issue in Korea lately. And the fact that the page creator uploads the videos himself/herself, instead of simply embedding ChefStep Youtube Channel's videos, thereby preventing those videos from getting the views they deserve, is a bit shady.

I agree it is less than ideal. However CS has appeared to take some great care in creating the videos such that they will still get at least some recognition (let's face it, in today's digital age type in Chefsteps (which is all over the videos) and where does it take them. So, less than ideal, but still quite positive promo IMHO. :-)

I worked at a Japanese company for 5 1/2 years, and we'd routinely get emails from HQ that were in Japanese. Like, emails addressed to the gaijin staff. Japanese. They would provide much entertainment through Google Translate.
