Obviously Semi-home with Sandra Lee. I can't get enough of that. Right now I'm keeping up with Worst Cooks in America. I used to be addiced to Chopped, but I'm ok now. Cutthroat Kitchen is ok, sucks to see Alton Brown being relegated to another hosting gig. That said, if Good Eats is ever on, I stop what I'm doing and watch.
But I gotta go back to my girl Sandra Lee. If there was a picture next to the definition of hate-watching in the dictionary she'd have to be there. Or a train wreck. She really goes both ways...
edit: and why? Chopped and Cutthroat do show some creativeness from chefs who are good at what they do. The rest are comedies and I like to laugh. Barefoot Contessa is another one I enjoy from time to time, but hate when she adds oil to her pot of boiling water before throwing the pasta in, while explaining that it will keep the pasta separated. Just stop.

I like PBS, I do watch MasterChef, TopChef in general I can't stand Food TV.

I generally watch Top Chef. I can't stand most reality cooking shows only due to the fact that they seem to be more interested in the personality of the people not the actual skill of the chef i.e. Hells Kitchen. If you cant cook risotto or scallops you have no right to claim to be an executive chef of any restaurant.
I do like the MasterChef Jr show. Only because the kids get so excited for each other when they do a good job. Plus it is amazing to see kids make some amazing dishes.
Chopped is a fun show to watch just to see the crazy fun ingredients they get in some of those baskets. I usually pause the show as soon as they open the baskets and try to figure out what I would make.
And you have to enjoy a good laugh by watching Worst Cooks in America. It shows how sad the state of cooking at home is these days! Job security!!!

Reruns of The Mind of a Chef and anything from Heston Blumenthal. I enjoy playing the game "Spot
@Chris_Young_80640
while watching Heston's shows. I also enjoy watching reruns of Jose Andres 9he is such a ham) and Lydia Bastianich; but I will not hunt down either - only when I happen to come across them accidentally. Bourdain's content is a must-watch, I see almost everything he puts out.

For background noise while I am in the kitchen - The Taste, Hells Kitchen, Master Chef/Jr, Chopped and Cutthroat Kitchen.
Sit down and watch - Top Chef, Mind of a Chef, Cooks Country Kitchen, Bizarre Foods, and Parts Unknown.

Long history of food tv in my life...going back to Julia. I watched them all. Want a kick? Look up Grahm Kerr as the Galloping Gourmet on You Tube. Currently, though, mainly Top Chef.

Used to watch a lot more but now mostly stick to Parts Unkown, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Mind of a Chef. Much better food shows online nowadays.

What shows reruns of Jose?

I'll watch Iron Chef America because while it's premise is stupid and it's overproduced, it's one of the only shows where people are cooking at a very high level. I also enjoy Mind of a Chef and A Chef's Life on PBS (I'm from NC originally, so it's nice to see a chef cooking NC foods with high standards). Anthony Bordain's travel shows are fun as well, but they're less about cooking and more about food culture... still a great way to travel and eat vicariously. I used to love Good Eats, but I've seen them all so I don't really watch it anymore. America's Test Kitchen delivers what I wish cooking shows for normal people would be like; good recipes with solid explanation of why they're doing what they're doing.

I like knife fight on Esquire, and mind of a chef. The rest are just for amusement like hells kitchen etc.

Top Chef is really the only thing I'll watch with regularity. I like to see how many professional chefs don't know how to use a pressure cooker.
I sometimes seek out old Japanese Iron Chef episodes online too. Really creative interesting stuff there and it make me nostalgic for the good old days of the food network.

Mind Of A Chef, Avec Eric, Made In Spain, In Search Of Perfection (Any of HB's shows, really), Molto Mario (my gateway drug), Good Eats. Will watch YouTube clips of older shows like the PBS Great Chefs series, or anything with Jacques Pepin. As far as shows that currently air new episodes, the only thing I really dig is Top Chef.

Anything of Heston Blumenthal but in Search of Perfection is probably one of the best food shows created.

Not a fan of current Television food shows (competitions) at all. Heston's series on Youtube have always been great (all of them) and Mind of a Chef is quite decent as well. Will generally do a search on a particular chef and watch it on Youtube (or Vimeo) and look for inspiration. Sometimes will use their recipes and often use the techniques as inspirations.

I think The Mind of a Chef is excellent programming. Although it drives me nuts when they don't eat the dish they have just prepared. I want to live vicariously through the eaters facial expressions. Same goes for your too Chefsteps!

Jose's show was Made in Spain on PBS. Last I checked available via YouTube and Netflix.

I think Knife Fight gets it right.

We ditched cable so I watch a lot of youtube and public access. Don't miss food network one bit
douglas_bd
I got rid of cable a couple years ago, so I don't get the current run of Top Chef, but have been watching Master Chef and The Taste. Also Mind of a Chef.
TODD_ANDERSON_36806
you tube search anything from Michel Roux Jr Great stuff!!! Don't hear him mentioned enough on the forum!
Johan_Edstrom_5586
I just made one of his dishes
TODD_ANDERSON_36806
What was the dish?
Johan_Edstrom_5586
Poulet a petit pois - he was showing it for MasterChef UK.

Has anyone else enjoyed Michael Van de Elzen's "Food Truck"? It's nice to see someone admitting to having a flop of a recipe. "Food Safari" out of Australia was interesting. But my favorite food porn was "Cook Like a Chef", they took food porn into an art form.

What is the easiest/best way to watch this show?
David_12237
Stopped food newtork years ago. Now doing a lot on demand - Mind of a Chef, Chefs Afield, Pepin, Julia from way back... used to love Bourdain but....

I have recorded about 40 episodes of the Master Chefs the Professionals with Michel Roux Jr. I really like him. I also like Monica.
