Forgetting things. I have to take a medication now that messes with my short-term memory (believe it or not, the cure is not worse than the affliction...) and I have to be very diligent about tracking what I have and have not done in complex preparations. It used to be so much easier, now...mind like China cap!

When thing's haven't been put back in the correct place. You are flying through a critical stage of the dish and need something, go to get it from it's home of 10 years...and no it's not there. Then starts the mad panic search whilst your dish is degrading.

Also when someone uses the last of a staple ingredient and doesn't replace it or add it to the grocery list. You used it a few days ago, there was enough left and then you go to get it and ...no...'oh I used that'....especially when they have been to the store since.

I live in a house with four other people. If I start cooking then someone almost always decides they want to be in the kitchen cooking their own meal at the same time and it drives me insane.

When my wife decides she's going to "help", and starts to clutter up the already-rather-tight counter space with whatever she's working on but doesn't clear things away when she's done with them. My solution: try to get my prep done before she's aware I'm doing it (which I'm getting much better at thanks to ChefSteps) and hand her a glass of wine as soon as she steps foot in the kitchen. That usually leads to her sitting off to the side so we can talk without her being in the way.

People who can't dance the dance. If I'm in a hurry, or even if I'm just trying to get through, some people (usually guests or hosts in a home setting) just seem to stand there. Can't you see I've taken a quarter step to the left, so you can slide through sideways? Gah!

When I can't find it! I know I bought that ____, now where did it get put? What happened to my goddamned _____? I had it last week! Etc., etc. My darling husband and I have a deal: I cook and wash up as I go, he keeps the dish drainer cleared. So usually, if I can't find a tool, utensil or dish, it is because he put it in the wrong place. I HATE having to look for that which I need!

What makes me angry, the bit where the laws of time do not work. Outside the kitchen time moves 1 second per second. In the kitchen time moves 1 second per hour during prep and 1 hour per second once food is plated waiting for a runner.

Mess! I hate having dirty dishes everywhere and having things out that don't need to be out. This usually only happens when I'm cooking with other people though. When I cook on my own I try and stay on top of things.

A really good friend of mine was after me many years ago to "come and cook for my wife and me." I finally relented and he ended up digging a carving set out of his attic that had been a wedding gift many years earlier to give me an almost sharp knife.

At Thanksgiving, I was sweating profusely. All I wanted to do was go to the bathroom and run my head under cold water for a couple minutes, but nooooooooooooooooo........... 'family time' beckoned.

I agree with many of the comments. I do not like to sit down to eat as soon as I'm done cooking a big meal. I've tasted so much that I'm not even hungry. I'm usually hot and sweaty so that makes me uncomfortable. I'd prefer to head to the back porch and have a cocktail to unwind a bit. I also agree with the dull knife when I'm at someone else's home. I really don't want to cut my arm off so I started taking my knife kit every where I go.

I know what you mean by this. Cooking for you is how I show my hospitality; my wife is the social one.

To this end, I really have an irrational dislike of 'open concept' homes. I live in one myself, and I think it's stupid. There is certainly utility to the layout, particularly if you have children. But in a small house, when I fire up the blender or begin heavy searing, any sound on the television is drowned out. The whole house smells like what I'm cooking (which if I'm reducing vinegar, is not really a good thing). I just don't like it.

People offering to 'help'. And disingenuous comments about the quality of the cooking. Look, I know when I screwed something up..... you won't hurt my feelings if you say the pork chop was over seasoned. Honestly, my wife is the only person I can trust to give honest feedback. And that's nice, because, while she's generally without much use as a cook, she has a fantastic palate (better than mine) and has been invaluable in my own development in the kitchen.

Not sure if it's "angry"......I'm not a fan of being rushed to join everyone eating. Perhaps selfish, but I want them to enjoy it. My fun was putting it together and I prefer to begin to clean somewhat. I don't like to leave pots on the stove etc, I'd prefer to quickly deglaze, and clean them so that counter and cooking area is ready to prepare desert. Once that's "settled" I can sit and enjoy my time with them.
