Which Japanese knife maker is this?

My wife enjoys using two Japanese hammered knives and both have the signature mark noted below. I've found strikingly similar knives made by Yoshihiro, Togiharu and Norisada, and am guessing that all or some of these knives are made by the same or closely related craftsmen; but none of the ones I've found carry the signature noted below.

Does anyone know this marking? And can someone explain my observation of strikingly similar-appearing knives with different brands?

I have seen threads on a knife forum that suggests there is a "knife forging house" so to speak that make a lot of knives that then get branded into some of the more common Japanese exports.
