Take a fridge magnet and go to a restaurant supply store. If the magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan, the pan will work on induction. The Walmart, Target, Ikea end of the market stores are another place to go. A nice big cast iron skillet is great for searing.
Buy individual pans, not a bundled set.

If you have no compatible cookware at the moment, I would respectfully disagree with Tim. Bundled sets can be a good place to start as long as you will use them (think of what you will want them for). Great deals often on ebay, craigslist and the like. Personally I use my complete set a great deal and have additional singles. The cast iron is fantastic and I highly recommend these! Have 5 plus 2 ci dutch ovens. FWIW.

any comments on stellar 3000 or Duxtop?

I have non stick pans from IKEA, cheap enough to just replace. Cast Iron like Tim says - YES!
I did buy a cheap Costco set that was induction ready, think it was the Kirkland Signature. Should be around 160, then wife and I had a kitchen cleaning day where we just donated anything that didn't work or looked scruffy.

Johan, can you tell me what exact model of Ikea non-stick pans you are using? I am guessing they are the same/similar that the CS team uses?

It is the 365 series,
