So I just proudly took delivery of the induction 'burner' (is that the right word?) cited in the topic subject. Works a treat, brought 3 qts of water to a full boil in about 3 minutes. Yay!! But through my unboxing tests, it seems that about 80% of my cookware doesn't work with the bloody thing. The bulk of my cookware is Cuisinart (the stuff Eric Ripert uses on 'Avec Eric'; it was available at closeout stores for cheap), and it says right on the bottom that it's 'stainless steel'.
W T actual F? Is the center bit perhaps made of aluminium?
