Last year on this day the southeast got nailed with a bizarre ice storm. I was only out of power for 3 days, but most folks were out for a week or more. Here's some pics I took.

This storm claimed the life of a friend of ours. It's crazy to think about how unprepared some areas are for any sort of winter weather.
