Headed to SF at the end of the week and staying at the Hyatt regency - 5 Embarcadero Center. Will be solo. I recall a thread on this a while back, but since I'll be solo would appreciate tips for anything within walking distance. :-)

Also, if you don't mind taking the trolley up California St a bit, you can check out Chinatown and Little Italy bit. Tons of fun.

La Mar for seafood/ceviche. Kokkari for a great Greek meal and can eat at their bar as well. Waterbar also has good seafood and a great view. Roka Akor is a higher end Japanese steakhouse and sashimi spot. Definitely do the Ferry Building in the morning on Saturday. Find Healdsburg Downtown Baking Company van and get a Donut Muffin to go with your coffee before the Roli Roti!

Barbacco for italian will definitely take 1 and Wayfare Tavern also is within walking distance. Have fun.

No real price range (most higher ends-Coi et al) don't seem to take reservations for one. Probably one night higher end and then the remaining 4 anything.....off the beaten path...? I don't mind a bit of a walk under 2 miles. And obviously can take local transit. Type of food? Basically anything delicious. Seafood (tough to get good seafood here in columbus), asian, eu.....local....delicious being the number 1 criteria. :-)

Saturday morning, hit the farmer's market at the Ferry Building, which is just across the park from your hotel. Not only is the market cool, the Ferry Building is home to several great food options: Boccalone, Slanted Door (great food, but we had a horrible service experience; caveat emptor), and Hog Island Oyster Company.

Also, outside at the market you will be able to enjoy a porchetta sandwich from Roli Roti. I've had the good fortune to eat at some truly exceptional restaurants around the world, and I'll take the Pepsi challenge with the stupid sandwich and roast potatoes from that truck against all but perhaps half a dozen things I've ever had. Obnoxiously delicious.
