Hive Mind: Stove/Range Recommendations

We are in the market for a new range. 30" gas slide-in, budget $2k - $3k.

One of my biggest pet peeves in life are ranges where all the burners have differing outputs. On my lunch break yesterday I went to the appliance store, and spent half an hour in facepalm mode as the sales person told me the best he could offer me in my budget was a Kitchen Aid model (KSGG700ESS) with five burners of 5k, 8k, 9,2, 15k and 17k BTU output. Srsly.

Anyway, sales guy sort of off-handed mentioned NXR pro-style ranges, but didn't say anything about price. So I looked into them on my own, and they seem to be sort of a budget version of the Viking/Thermador/Wolf type products with the heavy grates and oversized controls and whatnot. Reviews that I've found online have been all over the place. Lots of one-star remarks talking about receiving an incomplete product and no real maintenance support, and then several max-star reviews saying the ranges can't be beat for the money.

So, that brings me here: Does anyone have a recommendation for me, given the above criteria? And does anyone have experience with NXR they can share?

I just find it odd that someone would describe 'flexibility' using a construct of what you cannot do on a burner. To me, if a burner doesn't have the output range of 600 BTU - 17k BTU (or higher) then it is a design flaw. In our last house, we had a Premier 36" six burner job, and all six positions were the same....... as Shiva intended.

To me, 'variable output' = that's what the knobs are for.

WOW, I love my 6 burner with varying output burners. I have a Blue Star 36". The variable out put burners allow so much flexibility, you can't cook eggs on a 22,000 BTU burner no matter how low you turn it down and you can't boil water on a 1200 BTU output burner no matter how far you turn it up. Ive got one that goes down to 600BTUs for sauce and reducing Balsamic vinegar . IMHO Do you currently have a gas stove?
