I was experimenting with a recipe for chocolate milk tonight. I bought some powdered milk for the Chef Steps Soft Serve Ice Cream that I'll be trying this weekend. I decided to try adding some to whole milk to see what it would do. Here's the recipe I tried:
400g whole milk
40g powdered milk
8g cocoa powder
8g powdered sugar
Prior to adding the powdered milk, I tried some of the chocolate milk. It was not very sweet.
After adding the powdered milk, is what about the perfect sweetness for my taste.
The ingredients listed on the powdered milk package are:
- nonfat powdered milk
- vitamin A palmitate
- vitamin D3
Where is the sweetness coming from? The extra lactose?
Thanks.
